Job description
Garrett has a product lineup that includes motors, inverters, cooling systems, and fuel cell compressors, which are components of zero-emission vehicles that will be the pillars of next-generation mobility. These are highly differentiated products that have been cultivated through many years of turbo development, and have been successfully made small and lightweight while maintaining high performance, so they have already received inquiries from many companies, not just automakers.
This position will serve as a liaison between the Japan OEM team, each product division, the Garrett electrical team, and the software function development team, and will accurately grasp the technical needs of customers and make technical proposals and collaborations.
Customer management skills, communication skills, technical knowledge of electricity and software, and a mind to proactively manage cross-functional teams are required to build long-term relationships with the OEM team.

[Job description]
-Responsible for all electrical technology for Garrett products (motors, inverters, software, etc.) in the Japan engineering team.
-Understand customer requests for electrical control methods and seek ways to eliminate the gap with the current situation. Collect necessary information and explain to decision-makers.
-Ensure that the Japan engineering team, E-COE (Center of Excellence) team, and all technical personnel within the company have a clear understanding of the customer's short and long term needs.

-Ensure that the Garrett Technology electrical team's development plans are clearly communicated and aligned with customer needs.

Be responsible for the application team's strategic alignment with customers.

-Supervise the electrical engineering work of Japan engineers.

-Approve or request approval of documents related to specific projects such as customer validation plans, internal validation plans, and meeting minutes related to electrical engineering services.

-Create annual resource forecasts and budgets, constantly monitor workload, and work with the E-COE team to flexibly adjust allocations to efficiently support projects.

-Improve the team's electrical engineering capabilities and instill a teamwork spirit to continuously develop capabilities.

-Lead the daily and ongoing deployment of Design for Six Sigma.

-Ensure that all internal processes are being properly executed within the team and across projects.

-Contribute to the improvement and optimization of the organization and tools through internal feedback and group contributions.
・Carefully review contracts and requirements with customers, and clearly understand the contents and deadlines as an organization.
