■ Business environment/industry challenges
SORABITO is a vertical SaaS startup that uses technology to transform the sleeping giant industry of construction to achieve its mission of "creating tomorrow for the world."

Japan boasts an annual construction investment of approximately 60 trillion yen, but the construction industry is facing multiple time bombs, such as 1) upper limits on overtime work, 2) mass turnover of construction skilled workers, and 3) a shortage of general contractor engineers.

In addition, while more than 60% of the construction machinery used at construction sites is procured by rental,
until now, the connection between construction and general contractor companies and construction machinery rental companies has mainly been via telephone and paper,
and analog work flows remain.

In this context, starting with the "i-Construction" initiative launched by the Ministry of Land, Infrastructure, Transport and Tourism in 2015, momentum has been building in the industry to solve these issues through digital transformation, and efforts through collaboration between industry players such as general contractors and construction equipment rental companies and IT startups, so-called "construction tech," are attracting a lot of attention.

■Characteristics and advantages
With deep industry knowledge cultivated since its founding, strong relationships with general contractors, construction equipment rental companies, construction equipment manufacturers, etc., and full support from shareholders including Sumitomo Corporation, Itochu TC Construction Machinery, and leading VCs,
the company has raised a total of approximately 4 billion yen. With members from diverse backgrounds, including the representative from a foreign investment bank,
formerly with Recruit, Yahoo, and Industrial Growth Platform,
the company has been working together to develop and commercialize new IT solutions,
and its presence in the startup community is steadily increasing.

In particular, the company's "i-Rental" service has been steadily adopted by major construction equipment rental companies,
while involving industry players including general contractors.

However, as a startup that is still in the early stages of development,
the company is in an exciting phase where it can feel the growth of its organization and services firsthand in an environment where it can take on unprecedented, highly challenging businesses.
