Position Overview
We are seeking an AgriTech Engineer to join our team, focusing on the development and operation of GIS, web, and image analysis systems. You will analyze multi-spectral imagery, agricultural and geospatial data, and contribute to the conceptualization of our in-house services. This role also involves team management, mentoring, and technical collaboration with partner companies.
You may also participate in overseas business trips, including attending business negotiations and inspecting agricultural sites.
Key Responsibilities
When working in the office:
Develop and operate GIS, web, and image analysis systems
Analyze multi-spectral images and other imagery data
Analyze agricultural and geospatial data; perform predictions and modeling
Contribute to the conceptualization of in-house services
Manage and mentor team members
Coordinate technical aspects with partner companies
Other related tasks
During business trips:
Attend business negotiations
Inspect agricultural sites
Other related tasks
Salary & Benefits
Annual salary: ¥5,000,000 – ¥8,000,000 (negotiable based on skills and experience)
No bonuses
Commuting allowance (up to ¥30,000/month), overtime pay, travel allowances

Work Hours & Schedule
Office: 9:00 – 18:00 (8 hours/day, 1-hour break), minimal overtime
Business trips: 1 month per trip, at least 3 trips per year, mainly in Southeast Asia (Indonesia, etc.)

Weekends off; 126 annual holidays (2024)
Paid leave: 10 days after 6 months, up to 20 days/year

Requirements
Skills & Experience:
Programming experience (language not specified)
For foreign nationals: Business-level Japanese proficiency sufficient to communicate technical terms
Personal Attributes:
Ability to think deeply and solve problems
Persistence in fluid and dynamic situations
Quick learning in unfamiliar areas as needed
Willingness to travel to agricultural sites (oil palm plantations) overseas
Strong team communication skills
Motivation and interest in our business domain (culture fit and motivation are prioritized over technical level)
Preferred Qualifications / Interests:
Interest in Southeast Asia (Malaysia, Indonesia, Philippines, Thailand, etc.)
Interest in agriculture, plants, plantation industries
Interest in remote sensing (drones, satellites)
Interest in startups or creating innovative solutions
Experience or interest in AI development, especially image analysis
Experience or interest in GIS development (including 3D point cloud processing)
Data analysis, prediction, statistics knowledge or interest
Surveying technology knowledge or interest
Understanding of hardware for AI/GIS development
Experience in web system or database development, or interest in these areas
UI/UX design experience (engineer level or higher)
Experience or interest in in-house product or business development
Understanding or interest in drone operation software/hardware/positioning technology
Experience or interest in embedded system development
Team-building experience or interest
Experience in internal systems (Google Workspace, Dropbox, GitHub, Slack, Notion, etc.)
